Scarface

The lion’s head (Scarface) started life as the stump of a Cherry tree that was given to me by a friend who had the tree chopped down in his front garden.

The finished piece is mounted on a Bahama Blue granite base and measures 70 cm H x 46 cm W x 62 cm D.

It took approximately 150 hours to complete - grabbing hours here and there in the evenings and the weekends over a period of approximately 2 years.

Scarface had its first outing when it was exhibited at Fulham Palace, London in August 2013 as part of a Surrey Sculpture Society exhibition.

Below is a sequence of photographs showing Scarface from the stump of wood to the finished article.  It is  finished with Danish oil and mounted on a Bahama blue granite base.
